MYSTIC MTB PARK WAIVER

The Buffalo Stampede is blessed to be able to access one of Australia’s Premier MTB Parks and buttery single track trails. The 10k course is entirely contained within MYSTIC and the 100k and 20k both start with the Iconic climb to its Summit. However it is of course now extremely popular for bikes and paragliders alike. So we need to follow certain rules and protocols to keep you safe.

MYSTIC is managed by Elevation Parks, who do an incredible job maintaining and building the trails and they need to mandate that anyone using the trails needs to have signed the MYSTIC Waiver. Last year it was under different management and we required everyone to purchase a day pass for Mystic, however this year SingleTrack have been able to absorb this cost and the runners will only need to sign the waiver.

The compliance of signing this waiver for the 10k, 20k and 100k runners is vital for our event as Mystic will crosscheck that every runner has signed it. PLEASE DO THIS RIGHT NOW!!

Anyone who hasn’t signed it will have to do so at the bib collection and we need to avoid this step as much as possible to avoid confusion, congestion and boring things.

Note: 42k, 5k and 2k runners do NOT have to sign the waiver.

Training in MYSTIC

If you want to come to Bright to run on the courses through Mystic before the race, or even if you are hanging around for a few days after and you want to run in Mystic Park or MTB ride, you must buy a Mountain Pass.

If you are running in the Park it is vital that you give way to bikes and are careful to stick only to the trails in the above Map. Note that it is therefore IMPOSSIBLE to run the full 10k course in training. The Buffalo Stampede 10k is the only time you can ever run this loop! Specifically you cannot run down Elevation or Corkscrew in training for the race. These are Downhill MTB trails that are Closed for the Buffalo Stampede.

For more information please go to the MYSTIC website.

Training on Course outside of MYSTIC

You are allowed to train on all other sections of the courses. in preparation for the race. Please be aware of the section that runs through the HVP Pine Plantations. These should all be open, however you must NEVER run through a signed worksite while out training, even if your map says it is in the course.

If you are coming for a training camp, you should stay in Bright or Porepunkah as these two towns are very central to the courses. You can easily access all aid stations along the course in a car.
