Race Rules

  1. DNF (Did not finish) - if you DNF you must report to the medic at the Aid Station or the Aid Station team leader. If you are not at an Aid Station you MUST text Nigel Preston the Race Director your BIB number and NAME to let them know your are DNF.

  2. Bibs - All runners must have their bibs clearly displayed

  3. Rubbish - Runners must not leave rubbish on the course. Carry it with you to the next aid station and deposit it there if there is a bin. Otherwise; carry it in – carry it out. Any runner found littering will be penalised by the Race Director in time or disqualification.

  4. Poles are allowed to be used by runners in ANY event and do not have to be carried the whole time (ie, runners can feel free to pick them up or drop them off to their crew at any point in the race)

  5. You can crew your runner in ONLY the 20k, 42k, 100k or Team Relay. You CANNOT crew a runner in the 10k. You CANNOT crew a runner outside the specified locations found on the Crew page.

  6. It is strictly not allowed to spectate runners in Mystic Park. We do ask that no one joins a runner on course in the 10k, 20k and Marathon as there is simply too much congestion on the trail.

  7. Mandatory gear must be carried at all times in the race. Any runner found without a piece of mandatory gear can be penalised by the Race Director in time or disqualification.

  8. Dogs are NOT permitted in the Mount Buffalo National Park.

  9. Dogs are not permitted to run with any runner in the race. Our field sizes are just too large to allow dogs to join their runners on course.

  10. Drones are NOT permitted to be used anywhere in and around the Buffalo Stampede Festival, unless authorised by the Event Organisers and the correct permits are acquired by each relevant stakeholder.

  11. Runners in the Slam Races can run the following days if they have not finished a previous stage, at the discretion of the medical team.

  12. Runners aspiring for a top 20 position in any race, must start in Wave 1. Podium (top 3) places will be decided by Wave 1 Gun Time.

  13. Filming and sharing your story is encouraged, but please apply for any permits where necessary (ie, Parks Vic film permit)

  14. Please be respectful to other competitors, crews, volunteers and race officials. This courtesy extends to your support crews and anyone filming you on course.

  15. Always follow race marshal directions and road rules.

  16. All athletes must agree to the event’s Terms and Conditions.
